Suburban Serenity – Combination of Function and Elegance

The client presented us with an extensive wish list, envisioning outdoor rooms and a flexible entertaining space suitable for both smaller family gatherings and larger events. We worked within strict city codes that dictated the size of the pergola and the footprint of the patio. Privacy was a key concern, especially given the corner lot's exposure to neighboring properties and public view. We needed to strike a balance between architectural features and natural elements. Our design aimed to create a seamless transition, differentiating the outdoor seating areas from hallways and the outdoor kitchen/bar zones. Additionally, the client wanted to incorporate an outdoor TV that would enhance the experience without dominating the space when not in use. By prioritizing the most frequently used areas and considering the sun's impact on each zone, we carefully designed the elements and then added lighting to bring the space alive at night.
