A Gardener’s Oasis

By Nature's Perspective Landscaping

The homeowners, who were avid gardeners, sought to enhance their outdoor spaces with a few structural elements: gazebo, pergola, and vegetable boxes. While their backyard already boasted several well-established planting beds, one neglected corner, overrun with euonymus, poison oak, and buckthorn, was in desperate need of attention. Additionally, the front landscaping, dominated by overgrown evergreens, was in dire need of a refresh. Several design iterations were explored, each featuring both the gazebo and pergola in the backyard, but these two prominent elements conflicted. The final decision was to place the gazebo in the back, while the pergola was relocated to an underutilized area of the front. The carefully chosen plant palette featured deer- and rabbit-resistant species, ensuring the gardens would thrive. The result was a transformed outdoor environment that delighted the clients, who now find themselves enjoying quiet moments under the pergola, coffee in hand, fully appreciating their reimagined landscape.
