An Artist’s Sanctuary

This intimate garden is an urban retreat for an artist. It reflects her eclectic tastes of modern and vintage, with an overarching feel of a woodland whimsy. The plants are maintained to have an open structure. This controlled natural approach to maintenance, along with the open design of the fence, allow the garden to be a shared sanctuary for the neighborhood. The seasons unfold with spring ephemerals and bulbs and continues through summer with heirloom and native plants dear to the client’s heart. This eclectic collection of art, plants, and hardscape require specialized knowledge to maintain. The garden even extends to the parkway where a diverse mix of plants is maintained to replace a sterile turf planting. The hardscape is eclectic as well with a mix of brick and Eden Stone that needs to be gently maintained among the groundcovers. A truly inspirational garden to enhance and maintain!
