The new landscape design reimagines an existing space for a growing family while accommodating the client’s specific plant preferences. By enlarging the lawn area, we created a welcoming environment for more outdoor activities. The new design features layered planting for added interest and perceived depth, enhancing the visual appeal of the planting areas. Key elements that were introduced include a new vegetable/herb garden, sandbox, play area, and fire pit, which were all designed to improve usability. We supplemented existing drainage to ensure a functional yard year-round. The preservation of existing trees was crucial; we employed handwork techniques to work around them as delicately as possible. Additionally, we transplanted as much existing plant material as able, taking advantage of the various sun and shade microclimates. The client appreciates the improved design and functionality; it complements their lifestyle and house architecture while enhancing the landscape's overall beauty and usability.
