We’re initiating an intense search for a Floral and Garden Technician
Hursthouse Landscape is a highly respected, award-winning residential Landscape Architecture, Contracting, and Maintenance Company based in the Chicago suburbs for the last 35 years. The Floral and Garden Technician role is one of fine artist expression and careful planning. This individual will thrive in enhancing and maintaining the beauty, health, and seasonal interest of our clients' landscapes through expert horticultural care, seasonal color installations, and decorative container displays. This position plays a key role in delivering the exceptional outdoor environments that define the Hursthouse experience.

The Floral and Garden Technician will support all activities related to seasonal color, garden enhancement, and ornamental landscape care, including:
Design, install, and maintain seasonal container displays that reflect Hursthouse quality standards and seasonal aesthetics.
Install seasonal flowers in landscape beds with attention to proper plant selection, spacing, color combinations, and overall visual impact.
Install spring bulbs to create layered seasonal interest and long-term garden value.
Create and install winter greens arrangements in containers and landscape features using natural materials and seasonal décor.
Maintain perennial gardens, rose gardens, and specialty planting areas to promote plant health, vigor, and visual appeal.
Prune shrubs, roses, perennials, and ornamental plants using proper horticultural techniques to encourage healthy growth and attractive form.
Monitor plant health and identify signs of pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
Perform deadheading, staking, fertilization, watering, and other horticultural maintenance practices as needed.
Assist with seasonal garden transitions, including spring preparation, summer enhancements, fall cleanup, and winter protection.
Maintain the highest standards of detail and presentation on all client properties.
Assist with loading, unloading, and organization of tools, materials, and plant products required for daily operations.
